It's pretty simple in it's premise but it has a good overall feel like "Mario". I particularly liked the occasional bits where it would shift into a "side scrolling platform view".
Also, plenty of classic NES and Mario Easter Eggs to watch out for, plus there were some unexpected Evangelion Easter Eggs. At least they really felt like they were intentional.
